Story of the Day
I always admire people who take the time to form an avenue for other people to show some support of something they believe in and create a common cause, whether you judge it worthy of your time or not. I usually give muted support, these days, perhaps because I am getting older or I just don't see myself with a placard pacing up and down the street, like in days gone by. Shouting a few slogans for the British Miners or against Margaret Thatcher or World Hunger, was worth all the energy you had. You could see the people you were protesting against right in front of you, and with the ignorance of youth you could shout and sing until your heart was content. Cancer on the other hand is a ruthless and faceless killer, as I found out at a very young age, when my mother died of bowel cancer. After many a colonoscopy, I think it's important if you want to live, to use the medical science available and go and get your prostate and your colon checked, put your angst aside and your manly man-ness
aside, put your razor blades aside, grow your 'tache and support the folks at Movember. It's only for a month, then you can go back to your cool, suave, obnoxious, self absorbed, sophisticated self. Happy Friday. See the links below.
