AirCrash Detectives - The Story - Rose Tinted Glasses

The bill read like this Elvis Costello and the Attractions, Ian Dury and the Blockheads, Larry Wallis, Wreckless Eric and Micky Jupp, April 04, 1978. A shy 14 year old who couldn't see very well, liberated by two strokes of the keyboard on Watching the Detectives and Lipstick Vogue. I said to myself, I want to be that guy, alas no chops for that, but not a bad first concert though, I have to be content with writing and singing. Cheers Steve!
Fast forward to July of 2015 and the impending release of Shock Therapy on August 7th 2015. We are playing at Southland Ballroom in Raleigh. All welcome.
The biggest problem facing an artist is distinguishing themselves from a crowd. The internet has created a double edge sword in that anyone can post their music to one of a thousand sites and hope someone has more than a 3 second attention span to have a listen. Realizing the problem, AirCrash Detectives will resort to shameless self promotion and as many gimmicks as we can think of to promote our record. Our first idea was to produce a pair of Rose Tinted Glasses to go along with the song, see the picture above, they will be available at our release party, the first 250 will be asked to wear them during the night as we make our video for release in October 2015. We ask that you take a selfie and post it to our FB wall, which has taken on a life of it's own. You may stop by our office at 6001 Chapel Hill Road, Suite 106, Raleigh, NC, 27607 for a free pair of Rose Tinted Glasses before the release date.
The second idea we had was to create an animated video, that will play on our you tube channel, while you listen to the songs, we have posted the first minute just to get some feedback and see how it presents itself, music will follow later, we think it will be very soothing and would also make a great screen saver. Let me know if you would like this and I will send you a link. It will eventually run for 4 minutes and do some very cool stuff. The folks at Carolina Reprographics are doing an amazing job.

The third idea is to create a game app with the music embedded into it, to my knowledge this has not been done before. This poses several problems, but I know their are some very talented people out there who can solve this for us. Shock Therapy - The Album - The Game
The game app and the embedding of the music are not the problem, it will be the delivery system. So if any of you folks out there from Apple, Google or Microsoft want have a chat feel free to get in touch, we will have a preview ready 07/15/15
These ideas are created and sponsored by the very talented folks at Telepathic Graphics Inc, they love a challenge and enjoy the thinking outside the box. The keys to success are always getting the buy in, first internally and then externally. It's easy to gauge the first part and then we'll wait and see if Shock Therapy becomes a world beater!
Did I mention the music? The folks over at Osceola Studios in Raleigh did a great job on the production, a special thanks to Chad Lister and Dick Hodgin for their patience and attention to detail. Also thanks to our Special Guest on keyboards Steve Nieve who added some great moments to the record. You may have a sneak peak at the link below, you may download the AirCrash Detectives music app there, it will be released August 7th 2015 and be available through iTunes, Spotify, Amazon etc. Your feedback and comments are most welcome. See you August 7th 2015
